KUALA LUMPUR, 30 September 2026 — Bateriku will continue its participation in MARA Automotive Ecosystem (MATEC) 2026, with MotorManiac by Bateriku serving as a co-organiser of the event, which brings together industry players, entrepreneurs, TVET institutions, automotive communities and vehicle brands within a connected ecosystem.

Themed “Drive the Future”, MATEC 2026 will take place from 27 to 29 November 2026 at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil, with a target of attracting more than 300,000 visitors. The MATEC 2026 pre-launch ceremony was held today at BUSANA @ Menara MARA.

MotorManiac Strengthens Automotive Ecosystem Through MATEC 2026, Opens Opportunities for Local Entrepreneurs and TVET Talent

For Bateriku, its second consecutive year of participation is more than an opportunity to showcase its brand and automotive solutions. It serves as a platform to expand its network across the automotive aftermarket ecosystem, connect with potential business partners and create pathways for TVET talent to enter the industry.

MATEC 2026 focuses on three key pillars: Future Automotive, TVET Excellence and Electric Mobility.

Connecting More Players Across the Automotive Ecosystem

MATEC 2026 is expected to bring together approximately 100 exhibitors, comprising vehicle brands, component manufacturers and suppliers, spare parts and accessories players, automotive application systems providers, as well as relevant agencies.

Automotive brands scheduled to participate include Daihatsu, Perodua, Ducati, BYD and Honda, alongside various other industry players.

The Autoshow segment will feature the exhibition and sales of vehicles from brands including Proton, Perodua, BYD, Recon, KIA, Chery, MG and GWM, while the Motorshow will showcase two-wheelers from brands such as Modenas, Suzuki, Mforce, GT Max, GGR, Honda, Yamaha and 33 Garage.

Under the Accessories & Technology segment, Bateriku will be joined by industry players including Rimbunan Kuasa, Emerald Auto Parts, Mannol, PETRONAS, Lubrex, FT Garage and Little Joe.

The event will also bring together government agencies and supporting institutions such as PUNB, MARii and SME Corp, banking institutions including Bank Islam, CIMB, TIJARI and RHB, as well as MARA Educational Institutions (IPMA) offering TVET-related programmes.

The presence of players across these segments creates a platform connecting the automotive value chain, from education and talent development to products, technology and aftermarket services.

Driving the Future of the Automotive Ecosystem

According to MARA Chairman, YBhg. Datuk Wira Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dato’ Dusuki, MATEC 2026 is designed as a platform to expand Bumiputera entrepreneurs’ participation in the evolving automotive value chain, particularly in high-technology and future automotive sectors.

He said this year’s MATEC focus has expanded beyond electric mobility towards the broader scope of “future automotive”, reflecting technological changes and developments in the automotive industry locally and globally.

“If last year we focused on EV, this year we feel that it is time not only to discuss our ability to participate in high-technology sectors, particularly EV, but also to discuss ‘future automotive’ — not only for the country but at the global level,” said Dr. Asyraf Wajdi.

Bateriku Looks to Engage Automotive Entrepreneurs Through Otozon.com

As MotorManiac co-organise the event, Bateriku’s key focuses at MATEC 2026 is to introduce opportunities to join otozon.com, a digital platform developed to connect various players across the automotive ecosystem.

According to Bateriku Chief Executive Officer Azarol Faizi, MATEC provides an opportunity for Bateriku to engage with more workshop entrepreneurs and industry players who could potentially become part of the otozon.com ecosystem.

“At an event like this, we are looking to connect with workshop entrepreneurs who are part of the same ecosystem as Bateriku and invite them to join otozon.com. Otozon has four pillars: workshop service and repair, spare parts, accessories, and services such as insurance. So, we need more businesses that are interested in joining this ecosystem,” said Azarol.

This approach reflects Bateriku’s evolution from an automotive service provider into a broader ecosystem connecting vehicle owners with a wider range of automotive services, products and industry players.

Through otozon.com, Bateriku sees an opportunity to connect workshops, spare parts suppliers, accessories players and automotive service providers through a broader digital network.

TVET as a Pathway to Building the Automotive Workforce of the Future

Beyond business networking, Bateriku also sees MATEC as a platform to strengthen its relationship with MARA’s TVET institutions.

During the pre-launch ceremony, MARA highlighted the role of its TVET education network in developing a workforce that remains relevant to the changing needs of the automotive industry.

Of MARA’s 375 educational institutions, 270 are TVET-based, with a portion focusing on automotive-related fields. The education pathway includes GIATMARA, Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM), Kolej Kemahiran Tinggi MARA (KKTM) and Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Automotive Technology (UniKL MIAT).

For Bateriku, this talent development directly aligns with the industry’s workforce requirements.

“TVET is definitely important. At Bateriku, we need more TVET graduates because we have a lot of technical skills and functions within the business. MATEC is an ideal platform for us to source talent, strengthen our collaboration with MARA and provide opportunities for TVET graduates to join the ecosystem,” said Azarol.

TVET graduates can take on various roles within Bateriku’s ecosystem, including as mobile technicians, workshop technicians and technical personnel.

As automotive technology, electrification and vehicle systems continue to evolve, the demand for technically skilled talent is also expanding.

This makes stronger connections between industry and educational institutions important in providing graduates with clearer pathways into employment and entrepreneurship.

MotorManiac Brings Bateriku’s Automotive Community to MATEC

As part of Bateriku’s participation in MATEC 2026, MotorManiac will serve as a co-organiser of the event, particularly in driving the car shows and automotive gatherings segments.

The role allows MotorManiac to bring its automotive community experience and network to a larger platform, connecting car enthusiasts, automotive clubs and motoring communities throughout MATEC 2026.

The involvement further builds on MotorManiac’s role as an automotive lifestyle platform connecting automotive culture with community, lifestyle and events. In September, MotorManiac Festival 2026 brought together automotive, motorsport, music and youth culture communities for its fifth edition in Kuala Lumpur.

As a co-organiser of MATEC 2026, MotorManiac will help drive the event’s community and motoring segments through activities including custom car showcases, automotive club and community gatherings, as well as other activities centred around vehicle enthusiasts.

The collaboration further expands MotorManiac’s role in connecting the automotive industry with grassroots communities, creating more opportunities for clubs, vehicle owners and automotive enthusiasts to participate in a national-scale event.

Bateriku Sees an Ecosystem, Not Just an Event

MATEC 2026 is expected to serve as a meeting point for various segments of the automotive industry. From vehicle manufacturers, spare parts and accessories suppliers, financial institutions and government agencies to entrepreneurs, TVET institutions and automotive enthusiast communities.

For Bateriku, the participation opens up three key opportunities: expanding its entrepreneur network through otozon.com, building a TVET talent pipeline to support its technical workforce, and connecting with automotive communities through MotorManiac.

With its “Drive the Future” theme, MATEC 2026 also reflects the changing automotive landscape, encompassing technology, electrification, digitalisation and emerging business models.

Bateriku will bring the same approach to MATEC 2026, not simply participating as an exhibitor, but actively building connections between the businesses, talent and communities shaping Malaysia’s automotive ecosystem.

MATEC 2026 will take place from 27 to 29 November 2026 at the National Stadium Bukit Jalil. Admission is free.
