The event was organised by the Malaysia International Tourism Development Association (MITDA) and hosted by Tourism Selangor, in conjunction with Visit Selangor Year 2026. Strengthening Selangor’s Tourism Ambitions

The evening continued with speeches highlighting the importance of tourism industry players in supporting Selangor’s growth and competitiveness. In his address, YAB Dato’ Seri Amirudin bin Shari highlighted the contribution of tourism stakeholders in strengthening Selangor’s position as Malaysia’s leading tourism destination.

Selangor recorded 36.4 million domestic visitors in 2025, maintaining its position as Malaysia’s most visited state for five consecutive years since 2021. As part of Visit Selangor Year 2026, the state is targeting 9 million tourists, further reinforcing its ambition to strengthen Selangor’s position as a key tourism gateway.

Meanwhile, Captain (R) Mahadzir Tan Sri Mansor, President of MITDA and Chairman of the TIA26 Organising Committee, described TIA26 as an important platform for recognising the individuals and organisations contributing to the development of Malaysia’s tourism industry.

The evening served as a reminder that the success of tourism extends beyond attractions and destinations. It also depends on the many businesses and service providers working behind the scenes to ensure visitors can travel, explore and experience Malaysia with confidence.

Bateriku Named Best Roadside Assistance Partner for Tourism

One of the evening’s key highlights was the award presentation, where Bateriku (M) Sdn Bhd was named the Best Roadside Assistance Partner for Tourism. The recognition reflects Bateriku’s continued efforts to integrate roadside assistance into the tourism ecosystem and support Tourism Selangor’s Safe Tourism initiative.

The partnership between Bateriku and Tourism Selangor was formalised in May 2026 through a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening road travel safety and supporting the digital tourism ecosystem in Selangor. As part of the collaboration, Bateriku was positioned as the Official Roadside Assistance Partner for Tourism Selangor initiatives while supporting joint promotional activities centred around Safe Tourism. The partnership has since moved beyond a strategic agreement into tangible support for tourists and motorists.

More Than 50 Tourist Roadside Assist Cases Resolved

Since April 2026, Bateriku has successfully assisted in resolving more than 50 roadside assistance cases, averaging approximately 10 cases per month. These cases demonstrate the practical value of integrating roadside assistance into the tourism journey, ensuring motorists can receive support when unexpected vehicle issues occur while travelling.

24/7 Roadside Assistance Across Selangor and Malaysia

Bateriku’s ability to support tourists is backed by an extensive nationwide ecosystem comprising more than 270 Pitstops, over 1,000 BHero technicians and approximately 2,000 BBuddy workshops and towing partners.

In Selangor alone, Bateriku has an extensive network covering major urban areas, tourism corridors and destinations, helping motorists access assistance when they need it.

Supported by a 24/7 roadside assistance model, Bateriku’s ecosystem enables motorists to request assistance and minimise disruptions during their journey.

From popular destinations such as Batu Caves, Kuala Selangor and Sekinchan to urban centres including Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Klang, Subang Jaya and Sepang, motorists travelling across Selangor can rely on Bateriku’s extensive network. The approach supports Tourism Selangor’s broader ambition to create a tourism experience where safety and accessibility extend beyond the attraction itself.

From Tourism Partnership to Real-World Impact

For Bateriku Chief Executive Officer Azarol Faizi, the recognition reflects the importance of connecting mobility with the tourism experience.

“Tourism does not end when visitors arrive at a destination. The journey between destinations is equally important, and having access to reliable roadside assistance gives motorists greater confidence to explore Selangor and Malaysia. This award recognises the efforts of our people and ecosystem in turning the idea of Safe Tourism into meaningful support on the road.”

Together, these initiatives demonstrate how the Safe Tourism partnership is evolving from a strategic collaboration into practical engagement with motorists, visitors and communities.

Building a Connected Automotive Ecosystem for Tourism

The recognition as Best Roadside Assistance Partner for Tourism represents another milestone in Bateriku’s broader automotive ecosystem. By connecting these capabilities through its physical and digital network, Bateriku aims to make automotive assistance more accessible while supporting motorists throughout their vehicle ownership journey.

For the tourism industry, this ecosystem creates an opportunity to integrate mobility support directly into the visitor experience. As Selangor continues to grow its tourism offering through Visit Selangor Year 2026, Bateriku remains committed to working alongside Tourism Selangor, government agencies and industry partners to strengthen Safe Tourism and ensure visitors can explore the state with greater confidence.

The journey does not simply end at the destination. It begins with getting there safely.

And through its growing automotive ecosystem, Bateriku will continue working to keep motorists safe on the road, whenever and wherever they travel. Bateriku, Beyond Batteries.
