SHAH ALAM, 17 August 2026 – Bateriku welcomed Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) (KWAP) for an inaugural visit, led by its newly appointed Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Jay Khairil Jeremy Abdullah, providing an opportunity to showcase Bateriku’s growing automotive ecosystem, operational capabilities and plans for the future.

From EV Technology to Nationwide Operations: KWAP Explores Bateriku’s Automotive Ecosystem

KWAP’s representatives were welcomed by Bateriku Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tuan Azarol Faizi, before embarking on a tour across several key facilities that support Bateriku’s nationwide automotive ecosystem.

From Conventional Vehicles to EVs: Building Future-Ready Automotive Talent

The visit began at Akademi Bateriku, where the team was introduced to Bateriku’s technical training capabilities and facilities. The academy provides hands-on exposure to technologies covering internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, hybrid vehicles and electric vehicles (EVs), reflecting the changing needs of Malaysia’s automotive industry.

As vehicle technology continues to evolve, Bateriku is investing in the skills, tools and technical capabilities required to support vehicle owners beyond conventional battery replacement and roadside assistance. A key highlight of the visit was Bateriku’s recent achievement in strengthening its EV after-sales capabilities through technical training with SVOLT Energy Technology.

Bateriku personnel completed specialised training at SVOLT’s headquarters in China focused on EV battery pack diagnostics and troubleshooting. Following the training, Bateriku was authorised by SVOLT to provide EV battery after-sales service, strengthening its capability to support EV models equipped with SVOLT battery technology.

This capability includes diagnostic support for selected models, including Proton e.MAS 7, and represents another step in Bateriku’s efforts to prepare its nationwide automotive ecosystem for the growth of EV ownership in Malaysia.

Exploring Bateriku’s Wider Automotive Ecosystem

The delegation then visited BGarage and MotorManiac HQ, which provided an overview of businesses and initiatives operating within the broader Bateriku ecosystem.

The visit demonstrated how Bateriku has evolved beyond its origins as an on-demand car battery replacement provider into a wider automotive ecosystem connecting vehicle owners with roadside assistance, workshops, automotive products and other mobility-related services.

This ecosystem approach is aligned with the original vision behind KWAP’s investment in Bateriku under its Dana Perintis strategy.

In February 2024, KWAP announced Bateriku as one of two Malaysian companies receiving direct investment under the first deployment of Dana Perintis. The strategy was established to accelerate Malaysia’s early-stage ecosystem through investments in startups and venture capital funds.

Strengthening Nationwide Supply Through Bateriku’s Warehouse Network

The team next visited Paddock 3, one of Bateriku’s operational warehouses. Spanning approximately 11,000 square feet, the facility has the capacity to store approximately 30,000 battery units with current utilisation exceeding 80%.

The warehouse forms part of Bateriku’s wider supply chain infrastructure, which currently includes 11 operational warehouses across Peninsular Malaysia, with three additional locations in development, including planned expansion into Sabah and Sarawak.

This network plays an important role in ensuring the availability and distribution of automotive batteries to customers and partners nationwide. It also supports Bateriku’s growing portfolio of automotive brands, including its in-house ASTRA Battery and other battery products distributed through its ecosystem.

The investment in physical infrastructure reflects Bateriku’s focus on building the operational capacity required to support a nationwide automotive business at scale.

Quality, Research and Responsible Battery Recycling

The visit continued at the Makmal Hijau, Bateriku’s facility supporting research and development, quality control and warranty-related processes for its automotive battery brands. The facility represents an important part of Bateriku’s approach to maintaining product quality and strengthening its internal standards.

Among the key products highlighted was ASTRA Battery, Bateriku’s in-house automotive battery brand. All 28 ASTRA SKUs across its MF, EFB and AGM ranges have achieved certification under the SIRIM IEC 60095 standards, reinforcing the company’s focus on product quality, safety and compliance.

The delegation also visited the Briged Hijau recycling operations at Paddock 2, where used automotive batteries are collected for responsible recycling.

The initiative forms part of Bateriku’s efforts to address battery waste through a more structured and responsible end-of-life process, complementing its wider focus on sustainability across the automotive ecosystem.

24/7 Customer Experience at Bateriku Headquarters

The final stop was Bateriku’s headquarters in Bukit Jelutong, where the team was introduced to Bateriku’s Awesome Customer Experience (ACE), also known as the Customer Happiness Department. Operating 24/7, the team serves as a central touchpoint for customers seeking assistance, managing enquiries and coordinating cases across Bateriku’s nationwide service network.

The visit provided KWAP with a closer look at the people and processes behind Bateriku’s customer experience, from receiving a customer case to coordinating the appropriate assistance through the company’s nationwide ecosystem. Bateriku’s service model is built around providing on-demand automotive assistance across Malaysia, supported by its network and 24/7 customer support capabilities.

Looking Ahead: Scaling the Automotive Ecosystem

The visit concluded with a discussion between the KWAP and Bateriku teams on the company’s upcoming plans, new products and opportunities for further growth.

More than a facility tour, the visit provided an opportunity for both teams to engage on Bateriku’s strategic direction and the evolution of its automotive ecosystem from technical talent and EV after-sales capabilities to supply chain infrastructure, product quality, sustainability and customer experience.

For Bateriku, the engagement also reflects the importance of maintaining close communication with its investors as the company continues to scale its operations and develop new capabilities.

As one of the inaugural investments under KWAP’s Dana Perintis, Bateriku remains committed to building a sustainable and technology-enabled automotive ecosystem that creates value for customers, partners, employees and the wider Malaysian mobility industry. The visit by Dato’ Jay Khairil and his team marks another meaningful step in strengthening this relationship, while providing a platform to align on Bateriku’s growth ambitions and its role in shaping the future of automotive services in Malaysia.
