Bukit Gambir, Johor, 18 July 2026 – Bateriku reinforced its commitment to environmental sustainability by participating in Karnival Alam Kita 2026 as a strategic partner of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES). Held for the first time at Dewan Muafakat Johor, Bukit Gambir, Tangkak, the carnival brought together government agencies, private organisations and local communities to promote greater awareness of environmental conservation and sustainable living.
Bateriku Promotes Environmental Awareness at Karnival Alam Kita 2026
Carrying the theme "Small Actions, Big Impact", the carnival featured a variety of interactive activities, including Kutip Sampah Sambil Riadah (KUDAH) with Skuad NRES Lestari, Pocket Talk sessions, colouring competitions, Jualan Rahmah, and exhibitions by government agencies and strategic partners. Bateriku's participation reflects the company's commitment to supporting Malaysia's sustainability agenda through its Briged Hijau initiative while showcasing its expanding ecosystem that enhances the overall Vehicle Ownership Experience for motorists.
KUDAH Encourages a Healthy Lifestyle and a Cleaner Environment
The carnival kicked off with Kutip Sampah Sambil Riadah (KUDAH) at Extreme Park Bukit Gambir, attracting more than 150 participants comprising local residents, school students and representatives from various organisations.
The programme began with an aerobics and Zumba session led by the Johor State Health Promotion Unit before participants were divided into groups for a community clean-up around Bukit Gambir. The clean-up route started from Extreme Park, continued through Pasar Awam Bukit Gambir, and concluded at Dewan Muafakat Johor, Bukit Gambir.
Beyond encouraging an active lifestyle, the initiative fostered a stronger sense of environmental responsibility through simple yet impactful actions. Participants collected various types of waste throughout the programme, demonstrating growing environmental awareness, particularly among the younger generation.
To conclude the activity, all collected waste was weighed, and the team that gathered the highest amount received prizes sponsored by Bateriku.
Briged Hijau Expands Awareness on Responsible e-Waste Recycling
At the Bateriku booth, visitors were introduced to Briged Hijau, the company's sustainability initiative born from its commitment to responsibly managing used automotive batteries.
Today, Briged Hijau has expanded its mission by accepting a wide range of electronic waste (e-waste) for proper recycling. Visitors learned about the importance of responsible e-waste disposal in reducing environmental pollution and preventing hazardous materials from contaminating soil and water sources.
Through Bateriku's nationwide Pitstop network, the public can conveniently drop off their e-waste at selected Briged Hijau collection points, supporting circular economy practices and more sustainable waste management across Malaysia.
Pocket Talk Highlights Vehicle Safety and Environmental Sustainability
In addition to the community activities, visitors attended a series of Pocket Talk sessions delivered by various organisations, including the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia), which shared insights into the ongoing El Niño phenomenon and changing weather patterns affecting the country.
Bateriku also presented a session titled "Be Safe Before You Move," highlighting the importance of vehicle maintenance before every journey. Visitors were introduced to Bateriku's growing ecosystem, which has evolved beyond on demand car battery replacement into a comprehensive Vehicle Ownership Experience provider, encompassing roadside assistance, vehicle maintenance solutions and sustainability initiatives.
The session also provided practical driving safety tips and basic vehicle inspection guidelines to help motorists minimise breakdown risks and ensure safer journeys.
Deputy Minister of NRES Officially Launches Karnival Alam Kita 2026
Karnival Alam Kita 2026 was officially launched by YB Tuan Syed Ibrahim Syed Noh, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) and Member of Parliament for Ledang.
In his speech, YB Syed Ibrahim emphasised that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility involving the government, private sector and the public. He also highlighted pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, flash floods, river pollution, human-wildlife conflicts and the increasing volume of e-waste, stressing that these issues require collective action from all stakeholders.
He further outlined the roles of various agencies under NRES, including the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (JPSM), Department of Wildlife and National Parks (PERHILITAN), Department of Minerals and Geoscience Malaysia (JMG), Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), Department of Environment (JAS) and MET Malaysia, all of which play vital roles in preserving Malaysia's natural heritage for future generations.
BHero Showcases the Bateriku Ecosystem
Following the launch ceremony, YB Syed Ibrahim visited exhibition booths throughout the carnival, including the Bateriku booth managed by the BHero teams from Johor and Melaka.
Throughout the event, the BHero team engaged directly with visitors by introducing the Bateriku ecosystem, raising awareness about Briged Hijau, and hosting interactive activities such as the Mystery Box, which received an enthusiastic response from attendees.
Bateriku's participation in Karnival Alam Kita 2026 reflects the company's commitment to going beyond mobility solutions and roadside assistance by actively supporting Malaysia's environmental sustainability agenda.
