Keynote Address by MARii CEO, Azrul Reza Aziz
In his opening speech, MARii CEO Azrul Reza Aziz highlighted GATE 2025 as a significant milestone for Malaysia’s mobility ecosystem, uniting leading minds, advanced technologies, and key stakeholders shaping the future of transportation and smart manufacturing. He emphasized that the event aligns with national industrial aspirations under NAP 2020 and NIMP 2030, bringing together more than 350 local and international industry players across OEMs, semiconductor specialists, robotics leaders, and emerging innovators.
GATE, he said, is designed as a structured platform that strengthens collaboration, accelerates technology transfer, deepens localization, and unlocks new business and export opportunities. He also underscored the importance of conferences, business matching, G-Connect sessions, and technical seminars as key drivers for industry knowledge, innovation, and Malaysia’s advancement as a regional mobility hub.

MITI Minister, Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz described GATE 2025 as a landmark platform that showcases the technologies and expertise shaping the future of global mobility. He highlighted Malaysia’s rapid progress in EVs, automation, AI, and digital manufacturing core components of the nation’s ambition to become a regional hub for high-value, tech-driven industries. He referenced national frameworks such as NAP 2020, NIMP 2030, and Malaysia’s AI Cloud initiative as catalysts for advancing digital infrastructure, industry readiness, and innovation capacity.
The Minister also noted major national achievements, including Malaysia’s leading vehicle-to-market position in Southeast Asia and the fast-growing EV motorcycle ecosystem, and created thousands of jobs. He emphasized the importance of strong public-private collaboration in strengthening localization, enabling technology transfer, and expanding export opportunities. Tengku Zafrul concluded by affirming that the momentum seen at GATE 2025 reflects Malaysia’s united commitment to sustainable, intelligent, and inclusive industrial growth, cementing the country’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing and future mobility.
