21 January 2026, Besut, Terengganu – Bateriku has officially launched its first-ever Bateriku Incubator in collaboration with Institut Kemahiran MARA (IKM) Besut, Terengganu, marking a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to strengthen Bumiputera talent development and create new pathways into entrepreneurship within the automotive and mobility services industry.
Bateriku Launches First Incubator with IKM Besut to Develop Bumiputera Talent and Entrepreneurs
The initiative reflects Bateriku’s long-term commitment to nurturing a future-ready professional workforce, combining technical skills, digital exposure, and real-world business experience for students enrolled in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
Bridging Education and Industry Through the Bateriku Incubator
The Bateriku Incubator Programme introduces a fully operational Bateriku Pitstop within the IKM Besut ecosystem. The retail outlet will be supervised by Bateriku headquarters and operated by selected students, enabling them to gain hands-on industry exposure while continuing their studies.
Through this programme, students are given the opportunity to become BHero technicians (Bateriku’s mobile gig workforce) trained not only in car battery replacement but also in selected roadside assistance services. The gig-based model mirrors the commission-based ecosystem seen in platforms such as food delivery and ride-hailing services, allowing students to generate additional income while building professional experience.
This approach aims to cultivate expert technicians, skilled entrepreneurs, and market-ready professionals, aligned with the evolving demands of Malaysia’s automotive and mobility sectors.

Akademi Bateriku and IKM Besut Formalise Strategic Collaboration
As part of the launch, Akademi Bateriku signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with IKM Besut to establish a strategic partnership focused on curating learning modules that meet the latest industry requirements. The collaboration ensures that students are equipped with relevant technical competencies, operational knowledge, and the right professional mindset to transition seamlessly into the workforce or entrepreneurship.
Why IKM Besut?
IKM Besut was selected as Bateriku’s inaugural incubator partner due to its strong focus on automotive-related TVET programmes and its strategic position as a key skills institution in the East Coast region.
