About the role?

Responsible for supporting and executing strategic and operational HR functions with a primary focus on Compensation & Benefits (C&B) and Organizational Development (OD). Ensuring payroll accuracy, statutory compliance, rewards competitiveness, performance management effectiveness and talent sustainability within the Company. Analytical, detail-oriented and highly accountable to manage HR data, oversee payroll processes and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • PAYROLL OVERSIGHT & ADMINISTRATION
  • Oversee the end-to-end monthly payroll process to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness.
  • Validate payroll inputs including overtime, commissions, allowances, incentives, claims, deductions and ad-hoc payments.
  • Liaise with payroll vendors (if applicable) and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB and other relevant authorities.
  • Manage payroll documentation and ensure audit readiness at all times.
  • REWARDS MANAGEMENT
  • Support annual salary review exercises, increment simulations, bonus computation etc.
  • Conduct market benchmarking and salary analysis to ensure external competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Assist in reviewing and enhancing compensation structures, grading frameworks and benefits policies.
  • Assist to consolidate and prepare HR cost analysis, payroll trends and manpower expenditure reports for management decision-making.
  • Support job evaluation exercises and organizational restructuring initiatives where required.
  • PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Coordinate and administer the annual performance management cycle, including KPI setting, Mid-year reviews, Year-end appraisals and Performance moderation sessions.
  • Ensure consistency, fairness and documentation integrity throughout the performance cycle.
  • Provide basic guidance to HODs and employees on performance evaluation standards and best practices.
  • TALENT & SUCCESSION MANAGEMENT
  • Support succession planning initiatives and talent review sessions.
  • Assist in identifying high-potential employees in collaboration with business leaders.
  • Provide support in developing talent pipeline strategies and career progression frameworks.
  • Assist in designing competency matrices and development pathways.
  • HR ANALYTICS
  • Maintain accurate HR databases, dashboards and employee records.
  • Generate periodic HR reports such as Headcount analysis, Turnover rates, Absenteeism trends, C&B cost analysis and Performance distribution reports.
  • Ensure data integrity, confidentiality and compliance with data protection standards.
  • Identify opportunities for HR automation and process improvement.
  • Support HRMS enhancements, system migrations and digitalization initiatives.
  • HR ADMINISTRATION
  • Provide necessary support to HODs and employees on HR policies and employment matters.
  • Draft and review HR letters, employment documentation and policy updates.
  • Participate in internal HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support governance, policy alignment and documentation control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive HR experience with strong exposure in Compensation & Benefits, Payroll oversight, Performance Management and Talent & Succession Planning.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Hands-on experience with HRMS and payroll systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, simulations).
  • Experience in managing payroll audits or payroll vendors.
  • Exposure to job evaluation and grading frameworks.
  • Experience in HR system implementation or digital transformation projects.
  • Strong presentation skills with experience preparing reports for senior management.
