SME Bank, established in 2005 and regulated by Bank Negara Malaysia under the supervision of the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development (MECD), continues to play a vital role in driving Malaysia’s economic growth. At SME Bank Xcess 2025, over 500 local entrepreneurs connected with 20 international buyers from across Asia, opening opportunities projected to generate up to RM45 million in business value. Since its inception, Xcess has facilitated 1,800 business sessions involving more than 150,000 SME participants, highlighting its role as one of Malaysia’s leading development initiatives.
Strengthening the SME Ecosystem
The launch was officiated by SME Bank Chairman Dato’ Muslim Hussain and graced by Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development Dato’ Ewon Benedick, who emphasized the importance of strategic collaboration between government and financial institutions in strengthening SMEs.
